How your log is kept
Your log is encrypted in this browser with AES-256 under a key of its own. That key is stored only locked: once with your passphrase (stretched 600,000 times, so guessing it is slow) and once with your recovery code. The site keeps the locked copy and never receives your passphrase, your recovery code or the key, so nobody running the site can read your blocks, and neither could anyone who got hold of its servers or backups.
The flip side: if you lose both your passphrase and your recovery code, the log can't be opened by anyone. Download a copy now and then if you want a backup you can read without either.
"Keep it unlocked on this device" stores the key in this browser in a form that can be used but not copied out. Lock the tracker on a phone or computer other people use.
The colors are your own warning markers, not an official limit: amber to red by 30%, deep red by 40%, flashing from 43%. Pay per package turns red from $30.
