Sources, editorial standards and corrections

By StationClosed · Updated · Sources and corrections

StationClosed publishes an independent weather tracker and practical explanations for delivery drivers. It is not Amazon, a station operator or an emergency warning service. This page explains what our content represents and how to challenge it.

Who publishes these pages

The publisher is the operator of Flex Weather Tracker at stationclosed.com. About the tracker describes the service; publisher and privacy contact details are on the privacy page. General questions and content corrections can be sent to support@stationclosed.com.

Guides use the organizational byline “StationClosed.” That does not represent an external meteorological certification or Amazon endorsement. Examples written to explain a calculation or workflow are labelled as examples, not as field tests or verified driver experiences.

Three kinds of information

  • Automated estimates: station status, radar, forecasts and warning scores are computed from data and models. A refresh time tells you about data freshness, not about a staff member checking the building.
  • Driver reports: a user's observation can identify a missing station activity or a mismatch. It is not automatically confirmation by the publisher, Amazon or an official weather service.
  • Guides: explanations connect the product's actual behaviour with practical checklists and clearly identified external references. They are not a replacement for official warnings, current program terms or instructions for your block.

Sources and attribution

Local article links: the homepage discovers weather-related stories through the GDELT Project. Matches use the station’s city and region, may be geographically imperfect, and are not independently fact-checked by StationClosed. Headlines, publisher domains and index times are shown separately from our model-generated outlook and official alerts. The original publisher retains its content rights. We link out instead of copying article text or images; no article is treated as proof of a station closure. Empty, delayed and unavailable feeds are labelled honestly.

6 Hour Outlook: the weather briefing is automatically assembled at 3 AM, 9 AM, 3 PM and 9 PM Eastern from saved, issue-time station forecasts and weather indications, covering the remaining period until the next scheduled update. No human forecaster reviews each bulletin. It reports input coverage, learning flags and missing data; it does not invent probabilities for unmodelled hazards. The exact-window extension starts experimental, reusing trained storm-horizon weights on actual-window inputs with duration scaling below six hours. A bounded calibration record learns from observed issued-window outcomes, with later-case validation and as-issued reliability checks before estimates stop being labelled learning. Public regional summaries and account-restricted station dropdowns are separated. Original forecasts are never rewritten into hindsight; next-day reviews are saved separately, and uncertain timing or observation gaps remain unscored. Tracker indications are not independent confirmation of an actual operational closure. Publication waits during startup or a stale weather feed and catches up for the current slot after recovery; missing older issues are not fabricated.

The About page lists the tracker's data sources and credits. Safety and weather explanations link to the relevant primary source, such as the National Weather Service, where applicable. A source link supports the associated explanation, not every claim on the page or the accuracy of our models.

We do not reproduce another site's article as our own. Worked examples and product instructions add explanation rather than presenting a copied weather feed as editorial reporting. A guide's update date indicates a content revision; it is not a promise that all external policies were rechecked that day.

Uncertainty and earnings claims

A red station dot does not confirm a cancelled block, a pay entitlement or an email deadline. A model target is not a measured result. We should distinguish current observations from forecasts and describe known limits where they affect the decision being discussed.

For questions about a particular block or payment, use the Flex app and Driver Support. Do not rely on a weather estimate as proof of an operational or pay decision.

Request a correction

Send the page URL or station code, the disputed wording or label, the date and time zone, and a concise explanation to support@stationclosed.com. Link to an authoritative reference if available. Please remove customer names, delivery addresses, route details and access codes from anything you send.

For a station type, the signed-in station detail includes Report classification to support, which creates a support ticket and emails the support inbox. Save for me is separate: it changes your personal classification, not the shared directory. See the station-type guide for the refresh behaviour.

Reports provide evidence for checking a correction; submitting one does not instantly establish a fact. We cannot promise a response deadline or that an upstream provider will update its data. Material guide changes should update the date and explain the correction rather than leaving a misleading claim in place.

Advertising and access

The privacy and advertising disclosure explains advertising and related data use where enabled. These guides are readable without an account or paid plan. Ads, subscriptions and donations do not establish weather accuracy or make this an official Amazon service. There is no guarantee of AdSense approval.

Content update, November 7, 2026: expanded the driver handbook with radar, station-type and accuracy guides, and revised the weather-affected block guide to remove unsupported pay and confirmation-email promises.
