A big day: new pages anyone can read, an easier way to set your station, a tidier account page and fewer emails.
- New public pages, no sign-in needed. Every station now has its own page with its closure history, closures by month and the stations nearby. There is a station directory by state, a daily archive of every weather closure the tracker recorded, guides for drivers (how weather closures work, lightning safety, what happens to your block, and how the tracker works), a public accuracy report, and this What's new page.
- Setting your station is simpler. Whenever none is set, a pop-up asks which station is yours (Free and Pro) or which state you work in (Ultra), and the map shows it the moment you pick.
- See more around you. On Pro the map now shows every station within 20 miles of your Main Station; on Ultra, every station in your state.
- Room to change your mind. Your first hour after picking a state is free to switch; after that, a move to another state is allowed once every 7 days.
- No Save button to forget. Stations you add in your account save on their own. The "Add to your stations" button flashes for a few seconds until you have saved one, so it is easy to find.
- An easier account page. Your stations come first; alert settings, lightning near a place, tools, your plan, purchases, devices and security each sit in their own row you can open.
- Fewer emails. Alert emails now go out only when a station might close (a closing-soon warning) or has closed, at most one an hour. Reopenings and everything in between arrive as push notifications.
- Accounts and sign-in are open again.
- Retired: the 72-hour National Storm Pass is no longer sold (passes already bought run their course), and the "What's new" pop-up gave way to this page.
A fresh look and safer accounts.
- A new look in Flex blue across the site.
- Account security improvements: a cap on wrong sign-in codes, a way to sign out your other devices, and safer sign-in with Google.
A sharper early warning for lightning.
- The 20-minute "closing soon" lightning prediction was retrained on fall storms and summer storm days, so the warning keeps up with the change of season.
A fresh start for the leaderboard.
- The "most closed stations" leaderboard starts counting from this date.
Where it all began.
- The tracker's first version: a live map of the weather around delivery stations, with lightning, radar and forecasts.
